The importance of organising and implementing events, fundraising and campaigning for a cause goes without saying but with the increasing number of organisations and networks appearing across the internet being able to "keep up" can often seem overwhelming.
Sadly this issue can then see a wonderful idea suddenly "go cold", and any well laid plans or promotions might suddenly wind up neglected or overlooked.
With that in mind I have set myself the task of posting as much current information here so that each particular cause or benefit achieves further publicity!

FEEL TEAL for OVARIAN CANCER Campaign
The FEEL TEAL for OVARIAN CANCER Campaign kicked off in the first week of September with its main objective of profiling and highlighting further recognition for the colour TEAL
TEAL is the colour which represents this gynaecological cancer and like its sister in pink wants nothing more than an equal opportunity to be seen and heard.
This cancer too often presents itself with a number of 'vague' symptoms, similar to that of many other illnesses so is often sadly mistaken for something else.
As a result too many women and girls are given a wrong diagnosis, and there lies the tragedy-there is NO early screening test!
Wrong diagnosis gives way to wasted time....time for the cancer to spread!
A late diagnosis will mean later stages of cancer and therefore lower odds of survival.
The struggle has been for researchers to find THAT test....without it we will continue to lose more lives.
You KNOW the importance of screening for Breast cancer but what did you know about Ovarian cancer?
Don't be confused.... a Pap Smear twill NOT detect Ovarian cancer. A pap-smear will ONLY detect any changes of the Cervix.
So without a test, AWARENESS is best and we ARE aware that Ovarian cancer can present certain symptoms which need to be noted and shared.
Share with your friends, family AND more importantly share this with your own Doctor/s because you need to be an advocate for your body!
